Thanksgiving is always an occasion for reflection. The times have left many of us weary and with a common hope. Stephen Foster, known as the “father of American music,” wrote this song in 1854. It touches a chord even now.
Hard Times Come Again No More
Let us pause in life's pleasures and count its many tears,
While we all sup sorrow with the poor;
There's a song that will linger forever in our ears;
Oh! Hard times come again no more.
'Tis the song, the sigh of the weary,
Hard times, hard times, come again no more.
Many days you have lingered around my cabin door;
Oh! Hard times come again no more.
Thanks to all those who make the music that gets us through the hard times.
And thank you all for reading these essays. Share with others and have a blessed Thanksgiving!

“A dazzling addition to the history of the American Revolution.” -Kirkus Reviews
At least with hard times, there comes sympathy and compassion. Right now what I am seeing especially in the Middle East is hatred and fear. Very sad.
Morning Jack. I just listened to the music that you posted. Beautiful and a great way to start my day. I will keep this one so I can listen to it whenever I feel like it. Thank you
