It's amazing how one man could care so much for a group of people and another one not care at all. It does make me sad for our country and how so many just care about themselves. It was great to know that Hugh Thompson, Jr. finally got the recognition he deserved and I pray he felt it was deserving. Thank you again Jack for another history story I knew nothing about and now I do.

Mr. Thompson truly was a brave man and a hero. It took a set of balls to do what he did under those circumstances. He could have very easily been greased and thrown in the ditch with those villagers. I'm glad he received some recognition before he passed.

Thank you. This took me right back to the 60’s and the many anti war marches I walked in.

It warms this ole heart to read of the bravery and honor of some of our soldiers.

Oh god, this story makes me cry and brings back the nightmare of that time. I'm so ashamed of the U.S. and realize how the army training turns men into robots.

A reminder perhaps that our participation in the civic life of our country matters.
